Materialise and Former’s Farm Partner to Bundle Former’s Farm Printers with Materialise Software

Leuven, Belgium – November 16, 2015. Materialise NV (NASDAQ: MTLS), a leading provider of Additive Manufacturing software and of sophisticated 3D printing solutions in the medical and industrial markets, partners with Former’s Farm, an Asian manufacturer of desktop 3D printers, to together work on custom-made software for Former’s Farm printers.

Materialise is building partnerships with machine manufacturers to improve the communication between 3D software and a wide range of 3D printers. Former’s Farm is a Korean company specialized in developing and distributing filament for 3D printers, building desktop FDM printers for educational, prototyping and design purposes, and providing print services for prototyping companies.

Some key values of the company are collaboration, communication and connection. Their recent partnership with Materialise ties in with this philosophy. “I believe that co-operating with Materialise can bring a marvelous change in the home 3D printing field that goes beyond the 3D printer. This software can extend our usage of 3D printers,” states Mr. Kang, Former's Farm CTO.

The Form Engine software, customized Builder software, that Materialise and Former’s Farm are developing for the new 3D printer, will simplify the 3D printing process. The intuitive user interface will guide new and experienced users from uploading the file to watching their model print before their eyes. Users will be able to easily analyze their file, generate support structures and slice it. If their models contains errors, they will be able to repair them via 3DPrintCloud, a toolkit for 3D Printing in the cloud that helps users prepare their models for 3D Printing through an easy, fast, automated and secure process.

Materialise and Former’s Farm look forward to the development of the Form Engine.
