Materialise to Represent Belgium for Europe’s Most Competitive Business Awards Competition

Wednesday, May 30, 2012

The European Business Awards announced yesterday that Materialise is to represent Belgium as a National Finalist in the prestigious 2012/13 Awards program. Materialise will join five other Belgian National Finalists in the competition for National Champion status in the next round of the competition. Final category Award winners will be unveiled April 2013.

The European Business Awards has identified some of Europe's brightest businesses based on their ability to demonstrate the three core principles at the heart of the Awards program. The esteemed panel of judges, which included former Prime Minister of Belgium Yves Leterme, was looking for organizations to represent Belgium who exhibited innovation, business excellence and sustainability.

Materialise CEO, Wilfried Vancraen, has this to say about the announcement, "At Materialise, we are honored to have been chosen as a National Finalist for the European Business Awards. The competition will be tough, but I feel that at Materialise, we have a strong vision of who we are and what we would like to achieve – a better a healthier world through Additive Manufacturing – and we are up to the challenge. We're looking forward to the next round of the competition."

The European Business Awards is dedicated to raising the visibility and progress of companies who excel in delivering innovation twinned with successful commercial results whilst acting responsibly and positively affecting the social environment they operate in. The 2011 European Business Awards showcased organizations with a combined turnover of €1 trillion Euros (8.23% of EU GDP including Turkey, Armenia, Georgia and Kazakhstan). These businesses employ over 2.7 million people across the continent.

Adrian Tripp, CEO of the European Business Awards says, "Over the past six years we've received an incredibly high standard of entries from organisations that are passionate about their business. However, very few get the chance to fly the flag for their country and compete across Europe to be recognised as one of Europe's leading companies. It really is an exceptional accolade to be picked as a National Finalist, and together with our sponsors and supporters we're looking forward to seeing Materialise in the next round."
